Ackerman celebrates Memorial Day

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) – Songs, prayers, and roll calls were the highlight of a Memorial Day service in Ackerman

Citizens gathered at the Choctaw County Community Center to recognize the fallen soldiers from World Wars I and II and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

The program also included a special welcome home to members of the 155th Brigade.

Organizers say it’s important to remember those who gave their lives to protect our freedom.

The American Legion partnered with the Ackerman Chamber to host the program.
