Second Arrest in Alleged Buttocks Augmentation Murder
Jackson, MS—A second arrest has been made in a depraved heart murder case involving the death of a woman who received a buttocks augmentation in Mississippi, confirmed Attorney General Jim Hood today.
Natasha Stewart, a.k.a. Pebbelz, 39, of Memphis, was arrested by the Shelby County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office January 3 following indictment by a Hinds County Grand Jury on one count of murder, one count of wire fraud, one count conspiracy to commit murder and one count conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
“We cannot understate our appreciation to Sheriff Bill Oldham and his team for making this arrest so we can get this defendant to Mississippi to answer to these charges,” said Attorney General Hood.
Stewart has waived extradition and is being returned to Mississippi. Her case will be prosecuted by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. Her arrest is the second in the case involving the death of an Atlanta, Georgia resident who received injections of a foreign and possible counterfeit substance during an illegal medical procedure in Jackson. Tracy Lynn Garner, age 52, of Jackson also faces charges in the case which developed following a six-month investigation by state and federal investigators with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, United States Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations and the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure. Garner was arrested in September 2012 and remains behind bars.
If convicted, Stewart and Garner face up to life in prison. As with all cases, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The case is being investigated by Lee McDivitt of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division Intellectual Property Task Force. Prosecution of the case will be prosecuted by the division director, Assistant Attorney General Patrick Beasley.
