Boys And Girls Club Chapter Gets New Set Of Wheels
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A local Boys and Girls Club chapter now has a new set of wheels to help take youngsters to daily activities.
The Boys and Girls Club of North Mississippi picked up the 24 passenger bus on Thursday. The new bus was purchased by a grant from the “E Rhodes and Leona B Carpenter Foundation.”
This new set of wheels will be added to several smaller vans that are used by the two clubs in the Tupelo area.
The gift means more children will be able to be picked up for various activities and trips.
“The addition of this bus has allowed us to add another route to our pickup from the schools, we’re now able to go to the high school and pick up club members and also when we go on field trips, especially for teenagers, this is how they like to travel,” said Zell Long, of the Boys and Girls Club of North Mississippi.
“It’s improving lives of folks in our community that touch both our employees and our customers,” said Al Servati, of the ER Carpenter Company.
The Carpenter Foundation has helped the Boys and Girls Club of North Mississippi with other projects in the past.
The bus has been in use for a few weeks.
