Chickasaw County Traffic Stop Turns Into Contraband Investigation
CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A traffic stop in Chickasaw County lands two people behind bars.
Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department arrested Korbin Pickens, 34, and Laken Scott, 30, of Okolona for drug possession.
Deputies found one and a half ounces of meth in the vehicle and a firearm.
There were also several emptied water bottles filled with liquor, along with several pounds of tobacco, and cell phones to name a few of the items confiscated.
Sheriff Jim Meyers says investigators believe, from the way the items were packaged, the two were likely planning to smuggle them into a correctional facility.
Meyers says he and his staff do their best to keep contraband out.
