Mississippi House Recognizes Tyrone Ellis

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi House of Representatives pauses to pay tribute to a retired colleague.

Former District 38th Representative Tyrone Ellis was honored for his 38 years of service in the state legislature during a ceremony this morning.

His successor, Representative Cheikh Taylor, introduced Ellis, highlighting his accomplishments during his tenure.

Surrounded by family and other supporters, Ellis addressed house members, recalling memories from the past 30-plus years.

Ellis was also presented with a proclamation from house members.
