Dancers announced for N. Mississippi Boys and Girls Club fundraiser

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Eleven well-known people from across Northeast Mississippi will spend their summer learning a dance routine and help raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The eleven celebrity dancers were introduced to the public during a “Meet the Dancers” event at the rooftop at Park Heights in Tupelo.

“Dance Like the Stars” is the main fundraiser for the Tupelo, New Albany, Ripley and Oxford clubs. The dancers are paired with a professional instructor, learn a routine they will perform, and commit to raising money for the organization.

“Right now we’re getting ready to start our summer program, which will be June third, so those dollars raised, even before dance, help us to do programming everyday,” said Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs Zell Long.

“Raising the funds, we are able to raise through this event that we’re able to give back through those clubs to put back in our communities and make a difference in those kids lives that are attending the Boys and Girls Clubs, that’s what I’m looking forward to,” said Tyler Camp, assistant to the President at ICC.

The big event is August 24 at the Bancorpsouth Arena in Tupelo.
