Local Main Street Association In Nationwide Contest
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo’s Downtown Main Street Association is asking for the public’s votes as part of a nationwide contest with big prize money on the line.
“Independent We Stand” is an organization supporting small businesses and one way they’re doing that is running an online contest called “America’s Main Streets.”
The rules are simple, people nominate a “Main Street” group, and the public voting begins. Only one vote, per entry within 24 hours per IP address is allowed.
The grand prize for the Main Street that gets the most votes is $25,000.
“As a non profit we’re constantly looking for sponsorship, partnership, membership opportunities, $25,000 for us means that all the events we throw for everyone downtown, be it Elvis Fest, chili fest, Down on Main, events like that, not only get to be sustained but they get to be made better,” said Reagan Pepper, of DTMSA.
The contest ends April 22nd, so people have a long time to vote. For more information on how to vote, go to mainstreetcontest.com
