Webster County Shooting Investigation
WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A shooting investigation involving a Webster County deputy continues tonight.
Sheriff Tim Mitchell says an incident occurred this past Saturday in Webster and ended in Grenada County but referred other questions to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Attorney Carlos Moore says he has been retained by Robert Salley, who was shot during the incident.
Multiple sources tell WCBI that the incident started after Salley avoided a road block in Webster County and later almost hit a deputy with a vehicle. That’s when shots were fired in Grenada County, hitting Salley.
He was reportedly wanted in Webster County.
Moore plans to file a lawsuit in about a week.
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Spokesman Warren Strain confirms the agency is handling the case. He could not release any details, citing an ongoing investigation.
