* Until 415 AM CDT.

* At 322 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Pocahontas, or 7 miles southwest of Big Hill Pond
State Park, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

Selmer, Pickwick Dam, Eastview, Adamsville, Guys, Crump, Bruton
Branch, Pickwick Landing State Park, Acton, Hurley, Theo, Ramer,

* WHERE...Loosahatchie River at Arlington.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning to late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Brief Road is flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 2.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning to a crest of 21.0 feet early tomorrow
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

At 324 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

A Particularly Dangerous Situation will unfold along and north of
Interstate 40. Generational rainfall amounts fall across much of the
Mid-South Wednesday to Saturday, resulting in catastrophic river,
areal, and flash flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, including the following areas,
Lee AR and Phillips, North Mississippi, including the following
areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall,
Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tunica and Union, and
West Tennessee, including the following areas, Chester, Decatur,
Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson and McNairy.

* WHEN...Through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
