60 years of Tronox celebrated in Hamilton
HAMILTON, Miss. (WCBI) – It is a celebration 60 years in the making.
Employees and their families at the Tronox plant in Hamilton are treated to an anniversary party Friday.
The more than 400 full-time employees at the Hamilton plant work with titanium dioxide. That is a white pigment used in coatings and plastic.
Their website says the manufacturing operation is the third largest of its kind in the world.
Tronox president Jeff Quinn says they are also good community partners.
“Over the 60 years of this plant, over 6.5 million tons of TR2 has been provided, Quinn continued. “That’s over $20 billion of value in today’s market and that value has been re-invested back into the community so we are glad to be a part of the community. Very proud Tronox and the Hamilton plant – a great part of that community.”
Tronox also honored employees celebrating 40 and 45 years with the company.
