572 coronavirus cases, 8 deaths reported Monday by MSDH

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI)- The number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations has decreased.

Here are the latest numbers from the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Health officials report 572 new cases Monday, along with 8 deaths.

There are 1,172 people in the hospital. That number was almost 13 hundred last week.

302 patients remain in ICU.

MSDH says 42,931 people are presumed recovered from the virus.

This means there are about 17,000 presumed active cases in the state.
