Man that led multi-county chase charged with multiple felonies
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The man that investigators say led them on a chase across state lines is being charged with multiple felonies in Monroe County.
Jacob Ray Conn, 25, of Steens, is charged with Felony Fleeing from Law, Simple Assault on Police Officer, DUI 3rd, and 3 counts of Malicious Mischief.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said it all started when his deputies spotted what they believed was a stolen vehicle at a Hamilton gas station Monday morning.
Investigators said the person inside of the vehicle was the suspect, Jacob Ray Conn.
Even with two tires shot out by deputies, Conn led law enforcement through Caledonia and into Lamar County, Alabama.
Investigators said he then ran into the woods, getting caught by local homeowners and arrested a few hours later.
He is currently being held in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
