Thirsty? Mother Nature Brings A Good Drink of Water This Weekend
FRIDAY: We will be much cooler with highs around 50 degrees. Cooler and drier air will filter in from the north, so some northern areas may end up stuck in the upper 40s. Look for breezy north winds 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 25 at times. We’ll stick with partly cloudy skies with skies starting to clear by Friday Night
FRIDAY NIGHT: Look for a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky as temperatures fall into the upper 20s one last time for the week.
THIS WEEKEND: Saturday will stay dry, but rain will move in Sunday. Temperatures will warm back into the mid 50s Saturday and to 60 on Sunday. While exact estimates of rainfall is still uncertain, most areas should see between a half inch and an inch of rain by the end of the day on Sunday. We do expect most everybody to at least get a shower when it is all said and done.
MONDAY-TUESDAY: We think there will be more showers in the area as temperatures remain in the mid 60s. The better chance for showers will occur further south you go, but it’s possible areas north of Tupelo could get some. Our model guidance hasn’t been handling things well but we think there’s still a fair shot to see some moisture both days in our area as the front struggles to clear south.
WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: We’ll keep the chance for showers around as a subtle weather system slides through the area. Our model guidance really isn’t handling these days well either, with some suggesting a washout and others saying we’ll stay bone-dry. Hopefully we can get some more moisture in the area as we are in the midst of a strong drought. As we get closer, we’ll know more on exactly what will pan out. Look for temperatures both days in the low 60s.
