WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — The 3rd Annual Poker Run event kicked off Saturday morning to benefit children with disabilities.
The American Legion Riders Post 38 of West Point teamed up with riders from Columbus to raise money for Rebecca’s Rooms.
Rebecca’s Rooms is a volunteer organization that remodels the bedrooms of disabled children.
The group was founded in honor of Rebecca Carter, a disabled child who passed away in 2010.
“What we do as the American Legion Riders is we host a benefit Poker Run to help raise money for the materials and stuff that they need to do their jobs with,” says Walker.
There were door prizes and lunch served after the ride.
The event raised nearly $2,000.
