39-year-old accused of assaulting elderly victim in West Point

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – West Point police made an arrest in a bizarre early morning break-in.

39-year-old Garrod Walker was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

Police Chief Avery Cook said the incidents started about 4 a.m. in the Oak Ridge Estates subdivision.

Cook told WCBI that Walker was accused of going inside an elderly man’s home and hitting him.

Investigators believed Walker left and tried to break into another house.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Bond has not been set for Walker.
