Starkville Man Dead Following Early Morning Hit-And-Run

NOXUBEE CO., Miss. (WCBI) – Macon Police are investigating a hit-and-run that left a Starkville man dead.

The call came in around 4:00 A.M. Sunday morning.

Macon Police Chief Lucious Mason tells WCBI that a man was found lying in the southbound lane of Highway 145 when authorities arrived.

Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun identified the victim as 31-year-old Barcus Bartral Evans.

Calhoun says Evans suffered trauma to his body.

Investigators are waiting for autopsy results.

Police have not yet identified in the suspects in the hit-and-run.
