26 counties approved for FEMA assistance from Easter storms

More federal help was on the way to counties hit hard by deadly Easter Sunday storms.

Noxubee County saw damage from two twisters on that day.

FEMA approved Noxubee and 25 additional counties for public assistance.

This would provide money to local governments and certain nonprofit organizations to be reimbursed a portion of the money spent on clean-up and response.

In addition to Noxubee County, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Lafayette, Montgomery, Webster, and Yalobusha Counties were also eligible for the federal help.
