AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – Amory is celebrating 125 years!
Plenty of entertaining and educational activities are planned through the weekend in honor of the occasion.
The fun got started Thursday (11-8) evening with a ” Paint the Town” Art Exhibit in one of the Amory’s oldest buildings.
It featured paintings by renowned watercolor artists Wyatt Waters and John Ward, as well as works from Nan Moon’s art students.
Downtown businesses are getting in on the act with open houses.
Saturday morning activities begin with a breakfast for veterans at 7:30 a.m. at Community Bank.
After that, there will be a patriotic parade, then a concert at Frisco Park and a balloon release.
