10lbs of marijuana & other drugs seized in Webster County drug bust

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A safety checkpoint turns into a foot chase and drug bust in Webster County.

Webster County deputies and the Mathiston Police Department seized 10lbs of marijuana from the trunk of a Nissan Altima.

Tuesday, the departments were doing safety checkpoints on Highway 15.

During the checkpoint that’s when investigators say they found the marijuana and pills.

A suspect also ran off but was quickly captured and taken into custody.

The sheriff’s office says the case is still under investigation.
