Video: Prescott Found Not Guilty
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A former Mississippi State University football star is found not guilty of speeding and driving under the influence.
Former MSU quarterback, now Dallas Cowboy, Dak Prescott faced a judge Wednesday on those charges.
Prescott was pulled over on University Drive, near the Cotton District last March.
WCBI’s cameras weren’t allowed in the courtroom, but video was played of the traffic stop, showing the officer questioning Prescott.
Starkville Municipal Court Judge Rodney Faver then found the athlete not guilty of both the speeding and DUI charges.
Prescott’s attorney, Jay Perry, tells WCBI they’re thrilled about the outcome.
“Certainly we are excited, but he is more than anything,” Perry said. “Dak is most excited to have it behind him, and over with. He loves the city. He looks forward to coming back, but more than anything we are just really excited, happy, and pleased. Obviously with the outcome and that it’s over. Finally for Dak, he can now concentrate on playing for the Dallas Cowboys.”
Prescott heads to California Thursday for pre-season training camp.
