UPDATE – Bond Set For Boykin
COLUMBUS (WCBI) – Former Columbus Police Officer Canyon Boykin is finished with the first step of the criminal prosecution against him.
Boykin was officially served with a manslaughter indictment this morning in connection with the October 2015 shooting death of Ricky Ball. Boykin’s initial appearance on the charge took place in Judge Jim Kitchens chambers Friday morning where bond was set at $20,000 . The bond has already been approved so Boykin will be released shortly after he is processed at the Lowndes County Adult detention Center. Judge Kitchens set the trial date for November 28th but that is likely to be delayed once pre trial motions are filed in the case.
