Hensell Named Graduate Assistant Football Coach

Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt announced Wednesday that Alan Hensell will serve with the Rebel coaching staff as a graduate assistant for offense. Hensell is entering his second season at Ole Miss, having worked as a video graduate assistant during the 2007 campaign. Before his arrival in Oxford, Hensell made a pair of coaching stops at the Division III level.

Jerry, Hardy Make Nagurski Trophy Watch List

Ole Miss placed two of its defensive standouts on the Watch List for the 2008 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, as announced Monday by the Football Writers Association of America. Rebels Peria Jerry and Greg Hardy are both up for the award, which is given to college football's best defensive player.

Ole Miss Loses Former Rebel Bobby Fisher

Bobby F. Fisher, 73, who played football for Coach John Vaught at Ole Miss, passed away Sunday, May 4, at St. Dominic's Hospital of heart failure. Fisher, a graduate of Lexington High School and a 1956 graduate of the University of Mississippi, lettered as a left end on Vaught's 1954 and 1955 teams, which won back-to-back SEC championships.

Two More Rebels Sign NFL Contracts

A pair of former Ole Miss running backs have signed NFL free-agent contracts, as BenJarvus Green-Ellis has inked with the New England Patriots and Bruce Hall with the Buffalo Bills. The Rebel tandem along with Brandon Jenkins all participated in their respective teams' mini-camps over the weekend.

Bid Process Continues for New Video Board

The bidding process continues for the construction of a new video board at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, as Ole Miss Athletics Director Pete Boone announced Tuesday that bidding will reopen on May 20. The project is set be completed prior to the 2008 season opener.
