Railroad Worker Is Dead After Being Struck By Train

ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI)- 36-year-old Christopher Ross Hobbard of Cottondale, Alabama was struck by a train while he was apparently guiding it into reverse.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says, he was called to the scene at the 100-block Circle Drive in Artesia at around 10:30 this morning.

Hobbard was a conductor for the Alabama Southern Railroad Company.

Kansas City Southern Railway Company owns the railway Hobbard was killed on.

Lowndes County Investigators say that both railway companies are handling the investigation.
