Man Dies in Chickasaw Accident

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Houston man is killed in a fiery head-on crash.

It happened on Highway 15, near Wesley Chapel Road in Chickasaw County Friday afternoon.

State troopers say the truck,  driven by 36 year-old Justin Thomas drifted into the northbound lane,  and collided with a six wheeler hauling steel that went off the road and overturned.

That’s when Thomas’ pick-up collided head-on with a Frito Lay van. Both vehicles caught on fire.

Thomas died at the scene.

The driver of the big rig, 49 year-old Thomas Taylor of Nettleton, and the driver of the van, 48 year-old Franklin Hollis of Vardaman, were taken to a Tupelo hospital with serious injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
