"Inspiring the Next Generation: Exceptional Mississippi Women"

Location: Fulton
A former slave turned international concert performer, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, a five-time Olympian - these are just three of the women included in this exhibit showing at Itawamba Community College in Fulton campus Learning Resource Center through November 20. There is no charge for viewing the exhibit. LRC hours are 8am-9pm on Monday-Thursday: 8am-4:30pm on Friday and 4-8pm on Sunday. This traveling exhibit is produced by the Museum Division of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and introduces audiences to 32 women in eight categories who changed the history of the state and the nation. Learn about women of Mississippi active in civil rights, education reform, woman suffrage and government, as well as those who excelled in performance, art, literature and athletics. Jeans and Jazz

Location: Columbus
Annunciation Catholic School is hosting the 12th annual Jeans and Jazz auction today beginning at 6:30pm at the Trotter Convention Center upper level. This is an important fundraiser for the school and a night that you will not want to miss featuring a silent and live auction; live jazz music by Blue Matter; heavy hor d'oeuvres catered by Harding Catering; and beverages including wine, beer & soft drinks. There will also be a raffle including custom designed ruby earrings by Denis Reid and Rings and Strings ($3,000 value); laptop bundle: 13" MacBook, HP Photoshop printer, & Microsoft Office; Primo grill and grill accessories; and Hurricane Pearl (purchase tickets at $10/each for a chance to win a strand of Freshwater Pearls - $400 value). And you cannot forget the "Little French Market" which will include homemade food and craft items available to purchase just in tme for the holidays. Tickets to the event ate $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Raffle tickets will be $20.
