A somewhat typical, late summer pattern will be with us this week. That means that warm and humid conditions will hang around with the chance for scattered afternoon thunder storms.
A swatch of rain moved through Sunday evening into early Monday morning, but the morning hours of Monday should be spent mostly dry, other than a few lingering showers across the Golden Triangle. Highs will heat up to the low 90s today under partly cloudy skies.
Part of our area is under a Slight Risk for severe storms. The main threats will be gusty winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Hopefully this will all stay to our east, or better yet, not develop at all.
Looks for 90s the rest of the week with heat index values around 100 and afternoon rain chances.
