Noxubee County in Market for Road Manager
MACON, Miss--- The Noxubee County Board of Supervisors votes to fire County Administrator/ Road Manager Prentiss Guyton. Their decision came down last week. Supervisors felt Guyton was not the man to lead the county through the unit system of government. He'd been on the job for about 16 months and was allowed to clean out his desk, before deputies escorted him out of the courthouse. Supervisors plan to replace Guyton as soon as they can. In the meantime, Gerald Butler will handle the Road Manager's duties. Comptroller Janet Abrams will work as County Administrator. Butler has worked for District 4 for many years and served as the Assistant Road Manager since the county switched to the unit system. Guyton, who came to Noxubee County in 2008, was making $70,000 a year.
