Special elections will send voters to the polls this week in north Mississippi, including Lowndes County.
Five people will be on the ballot, to fill a Justice Court Judge seat, Tuesday.
District one Judge Phillip Robertson died last year and this election will fill that seat.
Robertson's widow, Carolyn, along with Ron Cooke, Tony Cooper, Chris Hemphill, and Michael Tate Sr. are vying for the position.
Polls will open at 7 AM and close at 7 PM.
If necessary, a runoff is set for November 24th.
The winner will serve the remainder of Phillip Robertson's term.
Another special election is also scheduled for Tuesday, this time in Webster County.
A large field of candidates are seeking the district 2 and 4 supervisor posts.
The positions on the board became vacant following the deaths of Mart Salley and Larry Crowley last year.
Polls are expected to open at 7AM.
