I'm Just Sayin'...Part II

It's emotional, for sure, but I still believe it goes deeper than a name change issue.
After I posted the first part, I spoke with several people; many, like I, don't have a "dog in this hunt," while others attended or graduated from the W during two different "name" periods. Unfortunately, I didn't speak with anyone who had attended or graduated when the institution was known at II&C.
Just between us, many I spoke with believe the name change issue is just a power struggle. So be it.
When I googled, "colleges and universities which have changed names," I found a site that specializes in letting you know who those schools are and what there names are/were. The list was 262 pages long. Apparently, many colleges and universities change names periodically to better reflect their missions.
I could be way off base, but it seems the mission, with a few changes in verbiage, of any college or university is to educate students. Any student. Woman. Man. Female. Male.
I'm just sayin'...
